Kids Coding with Roblox - Getting Started

Roblox is a great way for kids to start programming. Unsure where to begin? Here is a quick guide of how you can start getting your hands dirty with Roblox.

  1. Create an account on roblox.com. This will give you access to the platform and all of its features.

  2. Install the Roblox Studio software. This is a free software program that allows you to create and edit games on the Roblox platform.

  3. Learn the basics of the Roblox Studio interface and how to navigate it. You can find tutorials and guides on the Roblox Developer Hub.

  4. Learn the basics of the Lua programming language. Lua is the programming language used to create games on the Roblox platform.

  5. Start experimenting with basic scripts and building blocks to get a feel for how the platform works. You can find pre-built scripts and templates on the Roblox Developer Hub to help you get started.

  6. As you gain confidence and skills, you can move on to creating your own games and customizing them to your liking.

  7. Finally, join the online community of Roblox developers and players. You can find and join groups and forums, as well as Discord to get help, share your work, and connect with other developers.

Keep in mind that coding takes time and practice, so don't be discouraged if you don't get the hang of it right away. With time and patience, you will soon be able to create your own games on Roblox.
