At Geeky Kids we believe that learning doesn’t stop when the school day ends. Our afterschool coding clubs are designed to provide students with the opportunity to dive deeper into the world of technology, explore their creativity, and develop critical skills that will serve them well in the future. Here’s why afterschool coding clubs are a great addition to your child’s education.

Working with schools and private after-school clubs

We work with state/independent schools and private after-school clubs to deliver LIVE Virtual Courses directly into a classroom. For face-to-face classes, we can also come onsite at the school, depending on the school's location.

Face-to-face after-school club

One or more of our experienced and vetted tutors will come to the school to deliver face-to-face courses from our extensive curriculum. Children are grouped into different courses depending on age, and we run a different course each term for every group. Students are monitored closely, and feedback is provided at the end of each term.

Virtual LIVE direct to students at home (Secondary schools only)

With this option we deliver our coding classes to students directly at the comfort of their own home. When partnering with schools we are able to offer the same courses at very competitive prices.

Virtual LIVE courses in schools. How do they work?

We will stream our LIVE virtual courses directly into the after-school club over the Internet. Lessons will be delivered and led by one of our senior teachers with some assistance from a teacher assistant (TA) onsite.

Classroom setup and hardware

  • Students will require laptops/computers with an internet connection.
  • Teacher Assistant should have access to a computer connected to a projecting device. This computer will require an internet connection, microphone, and speakers.
  • Teacher assistant will prepare the classroom for the students.

Software

  • Zoom is required for all classes.
  • Most of our courses are run with online tools and software without any additional installation.
  • For some of our intermediate/advanced courses such as Minecraft, Roblox, and Unity, we may need to install some specialised software. In this case, we can liaise with the school's IT department.

Advantages of Virtual LIVE afterschool clubs

  • Small, manageable classes
  • Cost-effective solution
  • More flexibility and availability for times and locations across the UK and globally
