This is a Unity game programming course, with focus on the gaming elements. We look at some of the tools Unity provides to make interesting and immersive video games.
Detailed Description: Unity is a cross-platform game engine developed by Unity Technologies, which
is primarily used to develop video games and simulations for computers,
consoles and mobile devices. Unity has been used to build some of the best
games ever created.
This course will build upon what the students learnt in Unity Game
Programming 1. We will be looking more at the tools Unity provides us with,
when it comes to making interesting and immersive video games. Some of the
topics covered include; Unity Terrain – a way to make realistic looking levels,
Unity Canvas – for creating heads up displays and user interfaces, Particle
Systems – how add fire, smoke and water effects to your game. There will also
be a topic on improving student’s ability to fix bugs and errors with their code.
Finally, the course will culminate in creating a Museum Heist game, for which
we will be creating an AI controlled enemy. This course is great for those
looking to build upon their existing Unity knowledge.
